Ingredients

  • 1 lb Sliced Thick cut Bacon
  • ½ Cup Brown Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup
  • teaspoon Pumpkin Pie spice or ground cinnamon
  • teaspoon Cayenne
  • 1 pinch salt

Instructions

  • Mix all ingredients (except bacon) together in a large bowl.
  • Add bacon strips and use your hards to thoroughly coat all bacon slices.
  • See Video for this part: Use long skewer to skewer end of bacon.
  • Tightly wind bacon around skewer until it is wrapped two times around skewer.
  • Twist bacon as you wrap it around the skewer.
  • Once entire bacon strip is wrapped around skewer, use a toothpick to poke through all layers of bacon rose.
  • Remove skewer and place toothpick secured bacon in a muffin tin.
  • Continue with all remaining pieces of bacon.
  • Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and let cool completely before removing toothpick and serving.

Notes

Notes:

  • Use a thick cut bacon. That will have the structure that we need to form the roses.
  • Feel free to leave out the spices if you'd just like a candied bacon rose.
  • Use them as a garnish for a breakfast board, or bloody mary!
