Easiest Ever Ginger Simple Syrup

This Spicy, sweet and Gingery syrup can be used for so much more than ginger ale! Put it in hot or iced tea, use it in a glaze for cakes or breads, or for a touch of gingery sweetness in your favorite cocktail!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup Roughly chopped Fresh Ginger Root
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Cup Sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Roughly Chop the Fresh Ginger Root
  • Add 1 Cup Water and 1 Cup Sugar to Saucepan and bring to a boil.
  • Remove it from heat and add the roughly chopped Ginger Root and let it steep for about 30 minutes or until it has reached your desired flavor strength.
  • Once it has fully cooled, strain the pieces of ginger and pour it into a sealed glass bottle or jar. It may be refrigerated for a couple weeks, or frozen (put it in an ice cube tray!) for up to a year.
  • Enjoy!

  • This can be stored in the fridge in a sealed jar for up to a month.
