This Christmas twist on one of the most classic ginger beer cocktails is not only delicious but beautifully festive! Made with ginger beer and vodka like the classic Moscow Mule, but also with pomegranate juice and garnished with a a pomegranate, cranberry and rosemary ice cube. It is definitely one of the most refreshing winter cocktails! It is so easy to make with just a couple simple ingredients, making it perfect for a Christmas party or happy hour signature cocktail!
What you need to make this Yule Mule
- Vodka- Use whichever brand you prefer, just make sure it isn’t flavored vodka.
- Ginger Beer- Bundaberg and Fever Tree are my two favorites and they both make a light option.
- Pomegranate Juice- Pure Pomegranate is best, but you can substitute a cranberry pomegranate that will also be delicious.
- Rosemary- You will just need a few sprigs to add to the Pom Ice Cubes.
- Fresh Cranberries- you will also add these to the fancy ice cubes.
- Silicone Large Ice Cube Tray– This is the one I have and I love it (I’m not going to lie, the color is my favorite part! Ha!)
- Copper Mule Cups– These are not necessary, but almost a must have for ginger beer cocktails! Plus, the copper is so pretty with this festive Ice Cube at Christmastime. This recipe is designed assuming you are using a mule cup, so if aren’t, make sure you are using a 16 ounce glass, or just use a little less crushed ice.
How to Make this Festive Cocktail
Before you make this cocktail, there is a little prep work. Nothing difficult, but a critical part of this recipe because it is where the personality and beauty comes into play. It is the ice cube!
To make these special Cubes, you will need a large ice cube tray. Fill the tray 3/4 full with pomegranate juice. Then, drop about 5 cranberries into each of the cube spots. Add in a small sprig of rosemary and pop the trays in the freezer for at least 2 hours. Once this prep work is done, the rest is a piece of cake!
This is such an easy cocktail to make. Like most ginger beer cocktails, it doesn’t require a cocktail shaker, it is made right in the cup!
If you have a Copper Moscow Mule mug, use this. Fill it almost to the top with crushed ice.
Then, to the cup add the vodka, pomegranate juice and ginger beer. Stir it gently to mix and then top it with your pretty pomegranate cranberry rosemary ice cube. Serve it up and Enjoy!

Notes
Notes:
- Feel free to use light ginger beer to keep the calories and sugar down a bit.
- If you have trouble finding pure pomegranate juice, you can use a Pom-Cranberry blend.
- If you don’t have copper mule cups, you can use a different glass, but fill it just to half with the crushed ice before you add the ingredients to make sure you have enough room for everything. If there is a lot of room in the glass, you can add a little more ice, just make sure you have enough room for your pretty ice cube on top!
